Flash
Flash (Adobe Flash) is multimedia platform that allows users to add animation and interactive elements to their websites. Here at Iconet we strongly advise not to have flash website, we say this because of the longer loading times and flash based sites have very poor performance in search engines.
FTP
File transfer protocol, these are a very useful way of transferring large files through the internet to another location or person. FTP allows you to send files that would more than likely be blocked and cause problems if you try to send them as a email.
Hand Coding
A lot of company’s use programs to turn their website design into code. There a lot of disadvantages using this method of coding such as larger file size, inconsistent cross browser performance, longer loading times and cluttered coding. HTML
Hyper text mark-up language is the language that most websites are created with. HTML can also be used to created promotional mailers and newsletters. The HTML of your website denotes the structure/layout of the website pages and then links to CSS file which contains the style elements of your website.
Landing Page
If you click on an advertise and it diverts you to a website page, that is the landing page of that website. This page should display content that is relevant to the advertisement you clicked on to reach it. IT will also be optimized to include certain keywords or phrases for indexing on search engines.
Link
Links are frequently used in websites as a means to navigate through the website. A hyperlink allows the user to go to a different page,different website, download files and much more. The area in which the hyperlink can be activated is called the anchor, then what the hyperlink links too, is called the target.
Meta Tags
Meta tags are used in the X/HTML of a website and are placed in the head section of the document. Meta tags are used to provide the website page with a description, keywords, title and any other metadata not supplied by the other head elements.
