Adwords

This is Google main product, Adwords offers pay-per-click (PPC) advertising, for both text and banner ads. The text advertisement Google allows you to have is usually short; they only consist of a title line and two content text lines. Although Adwords may sound a good way to advertise for a low price, recent surveys show that a lot of people value organic search results compared to sponsored ones. Some people even said that they totally disregard sponsored links and view them as spam.

Analytics

Iconet will set up Google analytics on each site we build. Basically Google analytics is a very useful tool that allows you to monitor your website traffic, how visitors to your site got there (adwords, organic search, email marketing, etc), bounce rate and others. Google analytics is an essential tool to have to monitor your website and provides valuable information.

Blog

A blog is a type of website, which allows users/members of the website to post comment on the website. Blogs are a very useful way of creating interest in your website and making your site useful to obtain repeat visitors. On the other hand blogs can be a very time consuming task and require a lot of dedication, as they need to be updated on a daily basis or ideally more frequently than that. If you have a blog that allows members to post comments/articles monitoring your blog can turn into a very lengthy process.

Browser

A internet browser is a software application that allows you to display any content on the internet e.g. websites, videos, images. Internet browsers are a very quick and simple way of accessing and displaying information found on the web. There are now 3 major internet browsers available these are Microsoft Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Apple Safari.

CSS

CSS is a style sheet language used to create the presentation elements of a website e.g. the background colour, font size and font colour. CSS is design primarily for the website developer to be able place the styles of a website separate from the HTML of the site. DNS

Domain name system (DNS) is a naming system for computers or any website on the internet. A domain name system translates the domain name a website has e.g. www.google.co.uk into a number (IP address). For example www.example.co.uk translates to 123.33.245.177.

Email addresses

An email address finds out the location to which emails can be delivered. There are many different email software now available with the most popular being Microsoft Outlook. It is important to fully understand and make use of emailing as it is one of most powerful marketing tools available.
