With nearly 1 in 5 people owning an email address, email marketing is a very powerful way of promoting your company if done correctly. There are huge advantages in using email marketing:
- Very cheap to produce, there are no print or postage costs involved
- Allows you to target people all over the world
- Allows you to send your piece of marketing to thousands of people very quickly
- Emails go directly to the person you intended to receive them
Below are some points to help you increase the effectiveness of your email marketing.
A professional design
When people receive emails the first thing they will see is the design of the email. It is key that your email looks professional and relates to what you are trying to promote. Receiving an email that doesn’t look professional instantly puts of the prospective client. Having an email professionally produced for your company by Iconet ensures that it will catch the person eye and maximize the effectiveness of your email marketing campaign.
Make sure your email isn’t classed as spam
Nearly everybody uses some sort of spam protection now, so if your email is going to be classed as spam you are greatly decreasing the chance of it ever reaching the person you intended it to. There are simple things you can do to increase the chance of the your email not being classed as spam such as not using “Free” or “Discount” in the subject line of your email.
Email file size
If your email is a large file people are not going to want to open it because of the time it will take to view it. Trying to send emails that are large in size will also cause problems and take a lot of time to send. Keeping your emails down in size benefits both you and the person receiving the email.
There are some simple techniques used in keeping emails small, one of them is to link pictures into your email and not place them there. So that when somebody receives your email they can download the pictures if they want to.
Make your emails personal
Make sure each email you send contains the person’s name who receiving. For example “Dear Clive, Ben, Sam” etc. This makes the person feel that he hasn’t just received an automated email and increases the chances of that person replying back to your email.
